BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU senior guard Keith Hornsby had a very disheartening end to his college basketball career.
A sports hernia caused Hornsby to miss the final six games of the season, as the Tigers likewise crashed down the stretch and were eventually hammered 71-38 in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament in Nashville.
Many Tiger fans felt that once Hornsby left the lineup, so did what remaining fight and toughness the LSU team had.
With no shot at the NCAA Tournament, the Tigers would then remove themselves from NIT consideration and pull the plug on the season. The decision was met with controversy, as some critics labeled LSU a group of quitters.
In his first interview since then, the popular Hornsby dished on a number of topics - the perceived chemistry problems, the Ben Simmons media circus and even why his famous father, Bruce, never performed at an LSU home game.
