LSU-Auburn series opener postponed, doubleheader set for Saturday

Friday night's series opener between LSU and Auburn has been postponed due to rain.

The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and Game 2 will start 30 minutes after Game 1. Game 3 will start at 1 p.m. Sunday.

LSU is looking for its first SEC series win against Auburn on the Plains this weekend.

Auburn is 12-13 on the season and 1-5 in the SEC.  LSU is 16-8 and 2-4 in league play.

Auburn has played two SEC series, losing two-out-of-three against Texas A&M and losing three to Arkansas.

Auburn has a team batting average of .326, with 55 doubles and 21 home runs.

Anfernee Grier leads the team in hitting with a .434 batting average, seven home runs, six doubles, a triple and 23 RBI.

Joshua Palacios is hitting .411 and has eight doubles, four triples and three home runs.

Niko Buentello leads the Tigers with 34 RBI. He has a .380 batting average, six doubles, a triple and six home runs.

Jordan Ebert has a .366 average and seven doubles. 
Cody Nulph is hitting .326 and leads the team with 12 doubles.

Auburn's pitching staff has a 4.15 ERA

Ben Braymer is 2-2 in 11 appearances, with a 2.86 ERA.

Casey Mize is 1-2, with a 3.56 ERA. He has made seven appearances, four as a starter.

Andrew Mitchell is 4-0, with a 3.58 ERA. Mitchell has 33 strike outs in 32.2 innings of work.

Gordon Cardenas leads the staff with two saves and a 0.59 ERA in 15.1 innings.

First pitch for Friday's opener from Plainsman Park is set for 6 p.m.
