BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Women in Media and Kean's Fine Dry Cleaning will partner to host the Attire to Hire Clothing Drive Saturday, April 23.
The event is to collect new or gently-used professional women's clothing and accessories to help women re-entering the workplace in Baton Rouge.
The clothing collected will be donated to organizations dedicated to improving the lives of women who struggle with financial issues, victims of mental and physical abuse and recovering from alcohol and drug addictions.
"Attire for Hire continues to support underprivileged women in our community by furnishing them with professional clothing for job interviews and the self-confidence needed to gain successful employment," says President of Women in Media Kristi Howard. "We are proud to continue serving Baton Rouge with this event and could not do it without our generous partners."
Items needed for donation include business suits, professional blouses, slacks, dresses, scarves, shoes and purses. There is also a special need for plus-size clothing.
The organization does request that the items are clean and free of rips and tears and are brought on a hanger.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Kean's Dry Cleaning, 8967 Jefferson Highway at I-12. All donors will receive a coupon for $5 off at Kean's Fine Dry Cleaning.
