LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - The Lafayette Police Department is investigating a shooting that left three people injured, including the suspect.
Police responded to a call of a shooting at 12:15 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Merchants Boulevard.
According to investigators, a 29-year-old female and her 33-year-old boyfriend got into an argument with the female's ex-boyfriend, later identified as 28-year-old Jonathan Redeaux, in a parking lot.
Redeaux then approached the passengers side of the victim's vehicle and fired shots into the vehicle.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They were rushed to a local hospital where they are both listed in stable condition.
Detectives later received a call from the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office stating that Redeaux was found in his vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound near the intersection of Hwy 383 and Hwy 101.
Redeaux was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Pending his release from the hospital, Redeaux will be charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder.
