The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its date for the 2016 edition of Football Media Day for Friday, July 15. The event will be held at the Birmingham Marriott located at 3590 Grandview Pkwy.
Last season was the largest attended media day with of over 500 media members covering the event, its most since drawing more than 400 in 2014.
The official start to the 2016 football season will feature live video coverage via SWAC Digital Network. The three-hour broadcast will display a stage session, one-on-one interviews on the set of SDN, along with other featured guest. In addition, league head coaches and student-athletes will also join SDN live audio stream as part of the continuous coverage on www.swac.org.
Three new head coaches are set to attend including Fred McNair (Alcorn State) Tony Hughes (Jackson State), and Michael Haywood (Texas Southern).
A more detailed schedule with information on head coaches and student-athlete interview times will be released at a later date, however the event production will include:
