LSU travels to College Station to play the hot hitting Aggies of Texas A&M in a three-game series starting Thursday night.
Texas A&M (19-2, 2-1) is ranked No. 2 in the country and boasts a 15-0 record at home.
The Aggies are hitting a scorching .343, which includes 53 doubles, 13 triples and 19 home runs. Opponents have a 7.87 ERA against A&M.
The hitting attack is led by senior JB Moss. The outfielder is hitting .415 with eight doubles, three triples, three home runs and 22 RBI.
Boomer White is off to a hot start as well, batting .407. The senior also has six doubles and one home run on the season.
Other big hitters for the Aggies include Ryne Birk (.353, four doubles, four triples and two home runs), Hunter Melton (.338, five doubles, one triple, four home runs and 26 RBI), Nick Choruby (.343) and former LSU catcher Michael Barash (.338, two doubles and four home runs).
Texas A&M not only has great hitting, their pitching staff is on fire as well. The team has a 2.94 ERA and opponents are only batting .220 on the year.
Kyle Simonds has started five games this season and is 4-0 with a 3.18 ERA and 28 strike outs in 28.1 innings. Simonds will start game three.
Brigham Hill has made nine appearances and three starts. He is 2-0 with a 1.57 ERA and 26 strikes outs in 28.2 innings.
Tyler Ivey is also 2-0 in five starts with a 2.39 ERA and 34 strike outs in 26.1 innings. Ivey will start game two of the series.
Ryan Hendrix leads the staff with four saves, striking out 21 batters in 12 innings of work.
