Grambling State Tigers release 2016 football schedule

GRAMBLING, LA (WAFB) -

The reigning 2015 Southwestern Athletic Conference Western Division Champion Grambling State University football team—led by two-time SWAC Coach of the Year Broderick Fobbs —opens an 11-game 2016 schedule with a home game on September 3 against Virginia University of Lynchburg at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium on the GSU campus.

“We’ve got a good, tough schedule, and we’re already preparing for the challenge,” said Fobbs, going into his third year as head coach. “I’m happy for the seniors who graduated or are about to graduate so they can do what we’ve prepared them to do to get on with the rest of their lives and careers. But I’m excited about the 2016 signing class and the guys we’ve got returning. I know they’ll be filling some gaps and holes and we’re looking at another incredible season.”

The GSU Tigers finished the 2015 campaign with a record of 9-1 in the SWAC and an overall record of 9-3.
