BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Catholic Charities Diocese of Baton Rouge and St. Joseph Cathedral will host the annual Way of the Cross in downtown Baton Rouge on Good Friday. It is scheduled to last from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The walk will start at St. Joseph Cathedral, then travel throughout the Louisiana State Capitol grounds and return to the cathedral.
Chaneyville Community Center Easter Egg Hunt
District 1 Metropolitan Councilwoman Trae Welch will host the Chaneyville Community Center Easter Egg Hunt at Reames Road BREC Park at 23223 Reames Road Saturday, March 26. The event will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
There will be three different age groups (0-4, 5-8 and 9-12) for the hunt and there will be prizes awarded in each age group.
PSA 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Full Gospel UPC and the SE Mackey Center will host its Second Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt. The event will be held on Saturday, March 26 at the SE Mackey Center located at 6534 Ford Street. Activities will start at 12 p.m. and the first Easter Egg Hunt will be begin at 12:30 p.m. for ages one and under. The other three groups will include 2-5 year olds at 12:45 p.m., 6-10 year olds at 1:15 p.m. and ages 11 and up at 1:30 p.m.
There will be prizes awarded in each age group.
There will also be outdoor laser tag with an obstacle course and Shoot 'Em: Critters.
Baton Rouge Salvation Army Easter Bash
The Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge will host its annual Community Easter Bash Saturday, March 26 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Salvation Community Center on 4025 W. Brookstown Drive.
The event, that is free to the public, will have an Easter hunt, food, games and craft for everyone.
Annual Easter Egg Hunt
The hunt will take place at Park Elementary on March 24.
Pentecostals of Watson 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt
The hunt will take place at 34639 Highway 166 in Denham Springs. Hot dogs, chips, and snacks will be served. There will be games played and prizes given. There will also be Easter egg hunts by age groups.
Bunny Hop With The Blue
The Baton Rouge Police and the Young Leaders Academy will host the "Bunny Hop With the Blue" Easter Fest on March 26 at 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The event will be held at Saia Park at 855 N. Donmoor Avenue, Baton Rouge, La. Activities include an Easter egg hunt, bunny-hop sack races, face painting, and more. Community partners will sponsor booths with door prizes, activities, community giveaways, music, and games for all ages. Hot dogs and other treats will be served.
7th Annual Easter Parade
Klassy Styles, LLC will host its Seventh Annual Easter Parade Saturday, March 26 starting at 12 p.m.
The parade will start at Rosenwald Road and turn on to Scenic Highway and travel to Curtis Street, Helene Street, Fairchild Street, Scotland Avenue and return back to Rosenwald Rd.
There will also be Easter baskets given out after the parade the parking lot of The Alexis Hall at 6890 Plank Road.
North Baton Rouge Easter Parade
Greater King David Baptist Church will serve as host of the annual North Baton Rouge Community Parade on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. The parade will begin at Southern University's F. G. Clark Activity Center (Mini Dome) and end at Greater King David Baptist Church (222 Blount Road). Immediately after the parade, everyone is invited to Greater King David Baptist Church to enjoy free food, fellowship, talent showcase, and an Easter Egg Hunt for children between the ages of 0-6 and 7-12 with a grand prize bicycle giveaway (Four bicycles total, two per age category).
First United Methodist Church Easter Sunrise Service
The First United Methodist Church will host its annual Easter Sunrise Service at the North Boulevard Town Square Sunday, March 27 at 6:30 a.m. The event is free to the public. The church suggests parking at the Third Street Garage.
Hemingbough Easter Sunrise Service
Hemingbough will host its annual Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, March 27 at 7 a.m. Hemingbough is located at 10101 Highway 965 in St. Francisville. If it rains, the service will be moved inside of Hemstead Hall.
