BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A suspected thief faces charges related to two incidents that happened at convenience stores.
According to the probable cause report, Tevin Gunter, 24, of Baton Rouge, was arrested Sunday.
He is accused of taking a woman's purse as she was walking into a Circle K on Airline Highway on March 3.
The report stated the victim later learned a check that was in her purse was cashed at her bank. Detectives said they contacted the bank and were told the man who cashed the check used his Louisiana Identification Card. They added the check was cashed using Gunter's ID card.
The report indicated Gunter was identified as a suspect in an armed robbery at a different Circle K.
It added Gunter admitted to both crimes during questioning.
He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of armed robbery, purse snatching and access device fraud. His bond is set at $51,000.
