BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A father is facing charges after a small child was found alone in a park Saturday.
According to the probable cause report, William Russell, 34, of Baton Rouge, left a child alone at the BREC Park on Sherwood Forest Drive.
After locating the child, authorities said they found Russell and another man passed out in a vehicle. They added they believe the men shot up drugs not long before being located.
Officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department said when they asked Russell where the child was, he replied, "I don't know." The child's age was not released.
The report stated EMS was called to check out Russell and the child.
Russell was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of child desertion. His bond was set at $1,000.
