Suspect in June 2013 shooting pleads guilty to manslaughter

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - One of the suspects charged in the shooting death of a man in June 2013 has plead guilty to manslaughter.

Dorion Jenkins was on trial for his role in the shooting death of 25-year-old Brandon Carter who was found shot to death in the 2100 block of Sherwood Forest Boulevard.

Jenkins was originally charged with first degree murder but plead guilty to manslaughter in court Monday.

As a result of the plea, Judge Anthony Marabella Jr. sentenced Jenkins to 35 years in prison.
