BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center is searching for donors to help them supply blood to a woman who was injured during Race for a Cure.
Donna Settoon was injured after being struck by a vehicle on March 5 during the Race for the Cure 5K.
According to authorities, the driver suffered some kind of medical emergency.
Officials say that due to the recent floods there is a high demand for blood and now the blood banks are running low.
All blood types, platelet and plasma donations will be accepted.
Donations for Settoon will also be accepted at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Gonzales.
There has also been a GoFundMe account started for the family to help with medical expenses.
