HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash that killed a Tickfaw man Wednesday.
State Police say the crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. on I-55 south of I-12 in Hammond.
According to crash scene investigators, 24-year-old Eduardo Munoz-Iachino was driving a 2007 Dodge Pickup southbound on I-55 when, for unknown reasons, his truck exited the roadway, entered the center median and crossed into the northbound lanes.
After Munoz-Iachino's truck crossed into the northbound lanes, it hit the left front of the a 2014 Acura SUV driven by 63-year-old Walter E. Shockley of Springfield and then crashed head-on into a 2016 Volvo 18-wheeler driven by 60-year-old John McKeller of Mobile, Alabama.
Munoz-Iachino, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, received critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office.
Both Shockley and McKeller were treated for minor injuries and released.
Investigators collected blood samples and have submitted them to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
