BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge grand jury charged a man Wednesday in the shooting that killed a 14-year-old in December.
Carson Thomas, 20, was indicted on a charge of second-degree murder for the death of Desmond Bryant.
Police said the shooting happened in the 1800 block of North 17th Street after 10 p.m. on December 11.
According to police, Thomas allegedly opened fire on a vehicle hitting two people. Officers met up with the victims in the 3400 block of Choctaw Drive shortly after the shooting.
Bryant was a passenger in the car and suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and head. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries on December 13.
The driver, a 20-year-old male, suffered minor injuries in the shooting.
