BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center held its inaugural Amazing Half Marathon this weekend.

The event, which began Saturday, attracted more than 2000 runners.

Saturday's events included an expo, races for the kids and a 5K fun run.

Sunday morning, runners participated in a 10K or the half marathon race starting and finishing at North Boulevard in downtown Baton Rouge.

The winner for the 5K race was Eric Goodman and the winner of the half marathon was Morgan Shaw.

The 10K race also served as a qualifier for the Crescent City Classic that will be held in New Orleans on March 26.

OLOL says that the purpose of this weekend's events were to raise awareness of Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital and the many activities that families can do together to stay active and healthy.
