SLAUGHTER, LA (WAFB) -

Residents have in the Town of Slaughter re-elected the mayor and police chief as well as voted to fill five aldermen seats. 

Democratic incumbent Robert Jackson was elected once again as mayor over three-term alderman Nick St. Germain, who is a Republican. Jackson won with 68 percent of the vote. 

Voters also re-elected Police Chief Walter Smith, Jr. over Democrat Joseph Beavers with 72 percent of the vote.  

The town also select five aldermen out of seven candidates. Republican incumbents Liz Aaron and Aimee Bellue were re-elected along with Republicans Dave Almond, Roy Elliott Corcoran, Jr. and Janis Landry.
