BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The LSU women's basketball team just completed the program's worst season in over 20 years, finishing the 2015-16 campaign 10-21 overall following a 79-71 loss to No. 13 Kentucky in the SEC Tournament. It appears to be rock bottom for a proud program that once reached five straight Final Fours.
Many fans are fed up with head coach Nikki Fargas, as attendance has plummeted and grumblings over her large salary and dwindling results are intensifying. The staff's inability to recruit premier, instate talent has also been a major point of contention.
But there are those willing to give Fargas a pass, as this year was riddled with bad luck and unforeseen circumstances. Regardless, next season could be a do or die proposition for the coach and her assistants.
