BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man accused of shooting at a group of people Wednesday faces attempted murder and other charges.
According to court documents, Shawn Matthews, 44, reportedly opened fire on six people on Avenue I around 7:30 p.m.
Matthews then allegedly left the scene, returned a while later and kidnapped a woman at gunpoint.
He was booked on the following charges:
Attempted first-degree murder (6 counts)
Assault by drive-by shooting
Felon in possession of a firearm
Domestic abuse battery
Reckless operation of a vehicle
As of early Thursday morning, bond had not been set.
