BIRMINGHAM, AL (WAFB) - LSU guard Antonio Blakeney was named co-Freshman Player of the Week along with Kentucky's Jamal Murray.
Blakeney lit it up against Florida, scoring a career-high 32 points and hitting 8-of-8 free throws in the last half minute of the game to lead the Tigers to a 96-91 victory.
He started the week scoring 22 points and grabbing six rebounds against Arkansas in a tough 85-65 loss to the Razorbacks.
Murray averaged 28 points and 6.5 rebounds against Alabama and Vanderbilt for the Wildcats.
Vanderbilt's Damian Jones was named SEC Player of the Week. The junior center from Baton Rouge averaged 21 points and 7.5 rebounds in wins at Florida and over Kentucky.
