BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A pipeline fabrication company issued a WARN notice after beginning temporary layoffs at its Baton Rouge plant in late 2015.
Stupp Corporation of Baton Rouge issued the notice, saying that it expects their layoffs planned from February 22 to March 14 to last for longer than six months, affecting more than 114 employees.
Companies are required to file Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification, or WARN notices, if they expect to lay off a large number of workers.
Stupp Corporation says they are hopeful that work will pick up if their bids on certain projects are accepted. The company expects limited bids unless the oil and gas markets improve.
