ASSUMPTION PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

The precautionary boil water order for Assumption Parish has been lifted.

The entire parish was placed under an emergency boil order Tuesday after the water tower on Hwy 70 and Hwy 1 in Paincourtville was knocked down and destroyed. Officials say there was a tremendous pressure loss and the order was precautionary.

A state of emergency was declared after a strong tornado cut through Assumption Parish Tuesday afternoon. Video of the major damage was recorded from Paincourtville, LA by deputies with the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office.
