GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man was arrested Monday by the Gonzales Police Department and charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless operation stemming from a December collision with a train in Gonzales.
At approximately 6:40 a.m., on Monday, December 14, police say White was traveling eastbound on Felix Street when he crossed the railroad tracks. His Chevrolet pickup truck was hit by an oncoming train as it went through the city.
White was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for moderate to serious injuries at the time.
"As tests were run and the investigation continued, it became clear that White tested positive for marijuana. He was in critical condition until recently, and his arrest was made," said officials in a news release.
