Tigers check in at Nos. 5, 7 and 8 in latest baseball polls

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

After a sweep of Cincinnati this weekend, LSU is ranked No. 5, No. 7 and No. 8 in the latest baseball polls.

Perfect Game has the Tigers ranked at No. 5, D1 Baseball keeps LSU at No. 7 and Baseball America moves LSU up three spots to No. 8.   

The Tigers (3-0) started the three game series against Cincinnati with a 12 inning 6-5 thriller. Alex Lange took the mound for game two and LSU won 4-0. The Tigers flexed their muscles in game three hitting four home runs on their way to a 12-4 victory. 

LSU travels to Beaumont, TX on Wednesday to face the Lamar Cardinals (3-0). First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. from Vincent-Beck Stadium. The Tigers return home for a three game series against Sacramento State starting Friday night.
