Police arrest man accused of shooting at ex-girlfriend's vehicle

BAKER, LA (WAFB) - Baker Police have arrested a man they say shot at his ex-girlfriend's car Saturday night.

Police say the shooting happened at 10:15 p.m. near the intersection of Plaza Drive and Jefferson Street in Baker.

According to police, the suspect, 20-year-old Dalvin Broadway, and his girlfriend got into an argument with Broadway's ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend at a retail store in the 14000 block of Plank Road.

The victims told police that there have been ongoing problems between Broadway, his girlfriend and the female victim due to their past relationship.

According to police, Broadway challenged the male victim to a fight inside of the store but the male victim suggested that they go somewhere else to fight.

Police say Broadway followed the victim's vehicle in his girlfriend's vehicle to the intersection of Plaza Dr. and Jefferson St. where Broadway allegedly opened fire on the victims.

Both victim's fled to get away from the gunfire. Neither of the victims were injured in the shooting.

Police later arrested Broadway at his residence in North Baton Rouge.

Broadway was transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he has been booked with two counts of attempted second degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property.
