Police search for man accused of beating and threatening his estranged wife

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police are trying to find a man accused of beating and threatening his estranged wife.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported John Hicks, 32, allegedly attacked his estranged wife on Christmas Eve. According to detectives, he beat her in the face.

Investigators said Hicks later threatened his estranged wife on February 10 and damaged her vehicle. They added he had been served a protection order on January 27.

Police said they believe Hick is armed and should be considered dangerous.

They added he drives a blue 2011 Chevrolet Traverse with Louisiana license plate YVN 056.

There are active arrest warrants for Hicks on charges of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, violation of a protective order, simple assault and criminal damage to property.
