Two Baton Rouge women convicted on theft of government funds charges

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two Baton Rouge women were convicted of theft of government funds on Thursday by the U.S. Department of Justice.

47-year-old Rhoda Robertson and 68-year-old Louetta Robertson pleaded guilty to theft of government funds. U.S. Attorney Walt Green says the duo stole over $38,000 in US Department of Housing and Urban Development Section 8 Choice Voucher funds. The Robertsons submitted documents to the EBR housing authority in order to obtain funds they were not entitled to.

In July 2011, U.S. Attorney Green says Rhoda Robertson obtained an additional $12,445 in similar voucher funds, obtaining just over $50,000 in illegitimate funds in total.
