BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - People in Baton Rouge got a chance to weigh in on a known bottleneck near LSU's campus.
The Department of Transportation and Development held an open house meeting Wednesday night at their Transportation Research Center on Gourrier Avenue.
People discussed the proposal to widen the Nicholson Drive as well as got any questions they might have had answered as the plan moves forward.
Planners said they have had a lot of support so far.
"It's been positive. With this project, there's a lot of bike lanes that we're adding, and there's been a lot of bikers that have come in, and so it's been very positive on the build condition which is widening Nicholson Drive," said senior engineer Gray McCllure.
Project planners said there is still no definite timeline for widening Nicholson. The next step will be a public hearing about a finalized proposal to widen the road.
