HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - A grand jury is set to levy charges against a suspect accused of raping a Southeastern Louisiana University student.
According to a New Orleans law firm, an unnamed female student was allegedly raped by a male acquaintance at an off-campus party in the summer of 2015. The victim's attorney says both suspect and victim were students of SLU.
The university is investigating the incident through their Title IX officer and Student Conduct Board. If found guilty, the suspect faces a number of sanctions from the university up to and including expulsion from Southeastern.
