Family plans vigil for victim of N. 31st deadly shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A candlelight vigil is planned to remember the victim of a deadly shooting that happened Thursday.

The vigil will be held for Corey Boyd on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 809 North 31st Street at 6 p.m. A GoFundMe account was set up to cover funeral expenses.

Boyd, 34, died from his injuries after being shot in the head last Tuesday night.

Officers found Boyd lying in the driveway of a home in the 800 block of North 31st Street around 11 p.m. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No word on any motives or suspects at this point. The shooting is still under investigation.
