BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police said a man accused of passing fake money and possessing drugs was arrested Tuesday.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Justin Rushing, 31, of Prairieville, used a counterfeit bill at a Baton Rouge business.
According to Cpl. L'Jean Mckneely Jr. with BRPD, officers later caught up with Rushing and found an undisclosed amount of counterfeit money, paper, tools for a printer and a trimmer (commonly used to manufacture counterfeit bills) when his vehicle was searched.
Mckneely added officers found drugs on Rushing while he was being booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
He faces the following charges:
Monetary instrument abuse (6 counts)
Possession of Schedule I drug
Possession of Schedule II drug
Possession of Schedule IV drug
Contraband prohibited in a penal institution
His bond was set at $24,500.
