Woman recovering after being hit by stray bullet

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police said an innocent bystander was taken to the hospital Wednesday after being hit by a stray bullet.

Officers were called to the 1200 block of Myrtle Avenue around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the accused shooter had an argument with another person and opened fire at the person he was fighting with. 

However, a 19-year-old woman was hit in the side. The alleged gunman ran away. 

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The shooting is under investigation.
