Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I report they found more than 200 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 eastbound near Henderson.

The traffic stop happened around 8 a.m. Wednesday. A trooper saw a pickup truck commit a traffic violation while traveling on the Interstate.

Troopers spoke with the driver, 59-year-old Michael Willis of Lafollette, TN and became suspicious of his behavior. Troopers reported they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the truck. When troopers searched the truck, they found about 202 pounds of marijuana.

Willis was placed under arrest and booked at the St. Martin Parish Jail on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and following too close.
