LSU begins a very important week in Columbia, S.C. on Wednesday when they face No. 20 South Carolina.
The Gamecocks are 20-3 this season and 7-3 in SEC play, one game behind first place LSU.
South Carolina beat Texas A&M in College Station 81-78 last week and have won three out of their last four games.
The Gamecocks' three losses this season have come on the road to Alabama (73-50), Tennessee (78-69) and Georgia (69-56).
The team averages 77.3 points per game and allows 68.2 points per contest.
South Carolina is led in scoring by Michael Carrera (14.1 ppg), Sindari Thornwell (12.7 ppg), Duane Notice (10.7 ppg) and Mindaugas Kacinas (10.5 ppg).
Carrera is averaging 16.3 points per game in SEC play, while Thornwell is averaging 14.4 ppg in conference action.
The team shooting average is 43.6% per game and 35% from three point range.
LSU enters the game with five players scoring in double digits led by Ben Simmons' 19.4 points per contest. Keith Hornsby is averaging 13.4 ppg, Craig Victor II 12.7 ppg, Tim Quarterman 11.5 ppg and Antonio Blakeney 10.5 ppg.
Simmons was named the SEC's Freshman of the Week for the third time this season on Monday.
LSU is 3-4 on the road this year, while South Carolina is undefeated at home with a 12-0 record.
