BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Baton Rouge man was arrested Saturday afternoon, accused of breaking into two cars on Industriplex Boulevard.

Andrew Cox, 24, was arrested after East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Officers saw a suspect burglarize two cars in the Academy Sports parking lot. Surveillance video captured the man leaving the scene in a vehicle.

Later that day, authorities say they conducted a traffic stop of Cox’s vehicle in the 2500 block of Elvin Drive.

An arrest report from the EBRSO says Cox attempted to flee on foot, but was stopped when an officer used his Taser to subdue the suspect. Once in custody, the arresting officer found 2.8 grams of marijuana in Cox’s front pocket.

Cox was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of burglary, criminal damage to property, resisting an officer, theft, and possession of marijuana.
