Teen wanted, considered armed and dangerous after fleeing BRPD officers during traffic stop

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A wanted man is considered armed and dangerous after brandishing a firearm while evading Baton Rouge Police.

The BRPD says they are looking for 19-year-old Stanley Yates after he fled from officers in a car during a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Acadian at about 10:50 Thursday night. Officers chased Yates until he got out of the car in the 4000 block of Lynn Street, brandishing a handgun.

A pursuing officer fired one shot at Yates, who was able to elude officers on foot.

Yates is wanted for aggravated assault with a firearm of a police officer, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and aggravated flight from an officer.
