THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - A man was arrested after police say someone was allegedly attacked by his dogs in Thibodaux.
Thibodaux Police arrested 46-year-old Lance Clemons on three counts of dogs roaming city streets and three counts of dogs required to be vaccinated against rabies.
According to police, the victim and a friend were chased by five pit-bulls while walking in the 900 block of Lagarde Street around 8 a.m. Tuesday.
While the friend stopped running and stood still, the victim continued running until she fell to the ground in a yard. According to police, the dogs allegedly started biting her after she fell.
Police say a couple who were driving by saw the incident and chased the dogs away. The victim required medical attention for injuries to her arm and leg.
According to a report, Clemons, who owns the dogs, was allegedly laughing as his dogs chased the victim. He claimed they were only trying to play and that only three of the five pit-bulls belonged to him, while the other two were strays.
Police were only able to take three of the dogs into custody. They were not able to find the other two dogs.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
