Former CFO of fast food restaurant franchise pleads guilty to wire fraud, embezzlement

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Florida man pleaded guilty on Thursday to embezzling nearly $1 million using his status managing a popular Louisiana chain restaurant.

William Ros, 45, was the former Chief Financial Officer of Fundamental Provisions, a Gonzales based company that operated 30 Popeyes’ Fried Chicken franchises in Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida.

The court says in 2009, Ros told an Alabama store manager to remove money from their cash registers and deliver the money to him personally, or via mail. He is accused of doing the same thing to another Alabama store manager in 2010.

“Corporate executives who fleece their employees to finance their self-indulgence and greed will be aggressively pursued by this office,” says U.S. Attorney Walt Green.

Ros’ charges include wire fraud and embezzlement from a bankruptcy state.
