BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man accused in a deadly 2013 stabbing was indicted by a grand jury on a second-degree murder charge Thursday.
Corey Moore, 44, was arrested on September 15, 2013 in connection to the stabbing death of 57-year-old Cedric Hampton after the two had an argument, according to investigators.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Hampton was found in his home lying on the floor suffering from multiple stab wounds around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. He died at the scene.
Moore was released from jail after the state dismissed his case. The District Attorney's Office officials say there were no witnesses in court and Judge Higginbotham denied a motion to continue the case.
According to Moore's attorney, no witnesses were subpoenaed in the case.
A new arrest warrant was issued after the indictment.
