Crime Stoppers: Deputies search for sex offender who failed to register

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities are trying to find a convicted sex offender who they said has not registered.

Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers reported the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for Cedric Williams, 42.

He is wanted on a charge of failure to periodically register as a sex offender.

Investigators said Williams was convicted of simple rape in October 2004. They added he was supposed to register in June 2015, but failed to do so.

Deputies said they have tried getting in touch with Williams through phone calls and letters in the mail but did not receive any response from him.

Williams is 5’8” tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
