BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend.
The victim told deputies that just after 5:30 a.m. Monday she was taken from the parking lot of her residence in the 700 block of Ben Hur Drive against her will by her ex-boyfriend 49-year-old Alvin Young III.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Young punched the victim in the face several times before throwing her into his van. Young then drove the victim from her house to the parking lot of a Walmart six miles away.
The victim claims that Young had a shotgun and threatened to kill her.
Deputies say Young then held the victim in the parking lot for four hours until his daughter arrived. It was then that he released the victim.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital by a witness where she was treated for a cut on her nose, two black eyes, contusions to her head and scratches to her face.
Young's daughter told deputies that when she arrived at the Walmart she saw Young in the van with the victim and saw him holding a shotgun. Young refused to open the door and release the victim. Young's daughter says that when he finally opened the door, the victim got out of the van and other witnesses grabbed the gun from him.
Young was arrested Wednesday and taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he has been booked with second degree kidnapping, domestic abuse battery and aggravated assault with a firearm.
Young's bond has not yet been set.
