BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR) said its tax processing systems are not affected by the outage the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is experiencing, so residents can still file their state taxes electronically.
The IRS said a hardware failure is affecting a number of its systems, including e-file and others related to it.
Officials said taxpayers can continue to prepare and file their state tax returns as they normally would.
They advised using commercial tax preparation software or visit Louisiana File Online.
As a reminder, Louisiana tax returns are due May 15.
