The imposing 6'2", 310-pound Edwin Alexander said he's known for a long time he wanted to play in Tiger Stadium for LSU, but his high school teammate and cousin at St. Thomas Aquinas in Hammond, Cameron Dantzler, will be his rival in the SEC West after signing Wednesday with Mississippi State.
Alexander, who became LSU's very first signee on Wednesday, not including the five prospects who've already enrolled for the spring, will remain at defensive tackle for Ed Orgeron, joining one of the more highly-regarded recruiting classes at the position in the last decade.
Dantzler, on the other hand, will switch from his big-play role for the Falcons at quarterback to becoming a defensive back for Dan Mullen's Bulldogs.
