BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

State educators and students got a chance Tuesday night to address issues with schools from Pre-K through high school with Governor John Bel Edwards.

The event kicked off a national "Ask An Educator" tour.

The tour will travel around the U.S. to meet with teachers and administrators and talk about the biggest issues they see in schools.

Tuesday night's discussion included Common Core, testing as well as teacher evaluations and the possibility of new Louisiana standards.

As part of the tour, the Louisiana Association of Educators will also make stops in Lake Charles, Monroe, Morgan City, LaPlace and Lafayette among other cities.
