BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Louisiana wants to make sure the state is ahead of the game when it comes to cyber threats that affects almost everyone.
Members of the business and law enforcement community learned Tuesday how vulnerable everyone is to being attacked online during a cyber security symposium.
An attack online can wipe out a small business or someone's personal finances. One of the main themes at the symposium was about stopping attacks before they become a problem.
"We know the people are getting hacked. It's today's battleground as well as tomorrow's battleground, but we can't do it ourselves," said U.S. Attorney Walt Green. "The whole purpose of the symposium is to one, introduce everyone to each other, come up with a game plan to where we can start prosecuting cases, but more importantly for private industry, is to come together and thwart any threats they have now."
The experts say the faster people respond after they have been attacked or hacked online the more that can be done.
