BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Airport commissioners met Tuesday as the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) has seen a decrease in passengers during last year.
BTR spokesperson Jim Caldwell said a little more than 753,000 people flew in and out of BTR in 2015
That is 4 percent fewer than the 786,000 in 2014. Caldwell blames fewer flights.
BTR is in talks to build a Holiday Inn and Mike Anderson's Restaurant directly adjacent to the terminal.
A 2015 study found that two-thirds of people who live close enough to fly BTR, choose Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport instead.
