Zachary QB Lindsey Scott talks about committing to LSU

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - After months of searching, LSU football has finally snagged its first quarterback of 2016 recruiting class.

Zachary quarterback Lindsey Scott, Jr. announced his commitment to the Tigers via Twitter.

On Wednesday, the 5-foot-11 signal-caller was awarded the 2015 Warrick Dunn Award and Sportsline Player of the Year.

Scott, Jr. took an official visit to LSU this weekend, leading to a verbal commitment Sunday.

The two-time 5A Louisiana Player of the Year and 2015 Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year released a top two of Maryland and LSU prior to the trip.

Last fall, Scott, Jr. amassed more than 5,000 yards from scrimmage, 3,040 passing yards and 1,963 rushing yards along with 61 total touchdowns, and led Zachary High to the school's first-ever Class 5A state championship.

Scott is the third committed three-star recruit LSU has this off season.
