BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - East Baton Rouge Parish Deputies arrested two teens accused of pointing a gun at a school bus Thursday.

Deputies say that they received a call around 3 p.m. about a male and female in possession of a firearm.

Deputies also say that they received a call from a school bus driver saying that the male pointed a gun at the bus causing all of the children to huddle on the floor of the bus.

Deputies later located the male and the female, who were later identified as Roy Veal and Terriesha Hamilton, both 17.

According to deputies, the gun was found in Hamilton's backpack during a search. Hamilton told deputies that the backpack belonged to Veal and that he asked her to hold the bag for him.

Veal told police that he got the gun from the bushes at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital but denied ever pointing the gun at the school bus.

Both Veal and Hamilton were arrested and taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Veal has been booked with aggravated assault with a firearm, carrying a firearm or deadly weapon on school property.

Hamilton has been booked with illegal carrying of a weapon.
