BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - An evicted hoarder left quite the mess in a historic Baton Rouge neighborhood Wednesday.
The pile, which was found in the Beauregard neighborhood, filled two dump trucks and took most of the day to clean up Thursday.
The owner of a halfway house said one of his tenants left the mess behind after being evicted for piling up so much trash.
"It come out of his room," said Edmore Jordan. "That's where it came from."
Jordan gutted the room after the tenant vacated and that could create another problem.
Part of the the huge trash heap contains some of the rooms insulation and DPW considers that construction debris.
"When it comes to remodeling or something like that, the permit department will require them to put out a rollout dumpster," said William Patrick, a DPW operations manager.
The city-parish will investigate the situation and could fine the owner of the building or the tenant.
