Police arrest 2 juveniles after following trail of flour footprints

THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) -

The Thibodaux Police Department says that two juveniles were arrested Friday, January 22 for vandalizing vehicles.

According to police, just after 9 p.m., the two juveniles were left home alone and became bored. The juveniles then left the home and began to pour sugar, flour, eggs, cooking oil, ketchup and other condiments on vehicles in the 500 block of McCulla Street and at a business in the 500 block of St. Charles Street.

Police received a call from a resident who heard a noise and spotted the two juveniles fleeing the scene.

Police say when they began to search for the juveniles, they discovered white powdered footprints on a sidewalk in the 600 block of St. Charles St.

The powdered footprints led all the way to the door of the home where the juveniles were found.

According to police, when the juveniles were questioned, they claimed that they had been cooking chicken. When police contacted their parents, they admitted to the vandalism.

Both juveniles were charged with eight counts of criminal mischief and FINS Incorrigible.
