Woman involved in weekend crash dies from injuries

WATSON, LA (WAFB) - A woman involved in a two-vehicle crash over the weekend has died from her injuries.

Louisiana State Police reported Kristy Badeaux, 45, of Watson, died Wednesday.

Troopers said the wreck happened on LA 1019 west of LA 1023 in Livingston Parish on Saturday around 6 p.m.

Tpr. Bryan Lee with LSP said Badeaux was headed east on LA 1019 in a 2000 Ford Mustang when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 1997 Dodge Ram truck.

Lee added Badeaux was not properly buckled up and was partially ejected from her car.

She was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center where she later died. The other driver was not injured.

Investigators reported impairment is not suspected as a factor in the crash, but as with all deadly crashes on Louisiana highways, blood samples were taken from both drivers and sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

The investigation continues.
